Last week while I was visiting my folks my mom asked me to make dinner one night. I decided to make something simple because I wanted to be able to spend the day visiting not cooking. What I chose to make was Grilled Garlic Basil Pork Chops and a Southwest Corn Salad.
My dad really liked the pork chops and asked if I could leave the recipe for my mom and my sister in-law. The truth is this is really something that I make on the fly recipeless. So I needed to codify it so it could be sharable.

Grilled Garlic Basil Pork Chops
2 6 to 8 oz loin pork chops
6 cloves of garlic
3/4 cup basil (thai, sweet, whatever)
1/2 to 3/4 cup of low sodium soy sauce
Place garlic and basil in mini food processor or chopper. Pulse until well chopped. Place pork chops, 1/2 cup soy sauce and garlic basil mixture into a ziptop bag. Mix well. Make sure that pork chops are well soaked in marinade. Use additional soy sauce if necessary. Marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes and maximum of overnight. Start grill and bring to high heat. Grill pork chops 4-5 minutes per side.
