Fresh goods make the meal

One of the things I always love about summers growing up was the fact that we had a garden with fresh vegetables. Summer is also great because there are always roadside vegetable stands and a farmers market. Living in the city now. It is pretty difficult to have a garden. One because my yard is so small and two because to keep things alive here requires constant watering and care. I’ve had some success in the past when I put my mind to it.

But having a garden take time. So the next best thing is the local farmers market which offers a variety of vegetables and other fresh good like milk, eggs, cheese, and meat. Clear Lake Shores has a nice little farmer’s market that is open on Saturdays from 8-noon. I try to go there when I can to get things. The key is to get their early though. Otherwise it gets really busy.
